Enjoy a guided walk along the sand flats at low tide. Starfish, crabs, stingrays, and other marine life are all easily accessible. At the lowest tides, turtles and fish can be seen by walking to the edge of the reef.Wildlife Encounters
Hayman Island is home to a wide variety of wildlife. As well as a bird-watchers paradise, the island is also a sanctuary for the endangered Proserpine Rock Wallaby. Barramundi, swans and ducks can be seen in our ponds and lagoons with the marina home to a variety of fish, sting rays and turtles. The marina is also home to Jacko, a 200 kilogram, 2 metre long Giant Grouper, a remarkable sight to behold at feeding time.
